Correlating Standard Penetration Test (SPT) with Various Soil Properties in Different Kirkuk City Locations: A Case Study Utilizing Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) for Assessment and Prediction

چکیده

Due to cost limitations, it is not practicable experimentally investigate the soil characteristics over entire city. Given this, study has focused on using a geographic information system, especially IDW technique, with linear regression models. The study's data collection was taken from different locations around Kirkuk province. technique used examine Standard Penetration Testing (SPT) and chemical properties such as total Sulphur content SO 3 (%), soluble salt TSS organic ORG chlorine concentration Cl (ppm), free calcium carbonate CaCO Gypsum GYP pH. Both single-regression multi-regression models were utilized interpolate SPT properties. Sets of digital maps created soils. values can be predicted more precisely based integrated physical rather than or alone. components have been shown various positive negative relationships. While favorable relationships both silt clay amounts, they correlations gravel sand contents. variations revealed pH contents, while obtained between (%) (ppm).
